All three webcam streams are uploaded to an online server, which buffers the content before re-broadcasting it
back to you with only a few seconds of delay, in order to give
you a better viewing experience. When you start watching, the streams will start
automatically (if not, then press play on the green bar). The cameras are located about 3 miles from
runway 05 touchdown, directly under the flight path, two looking NE towards the airport and one pointing SW. Wind direction is
key! Aircraft will always take off & land into wind. Here at Glasgow, the prevailing winds are generally
from the SW, so runway 23 is mostly used (landing from the NE, departing towards the SW).
There is a rewind feature (time-shift) allowing you to scroll back and replay the stream from an earlier
time within the last 4 hours. This is a great feature to play around with. Time shift will only work on Desktop, and is only available on the camera 1 (Main View).
All webcams will run daily from 0600 - 2300.
Due to the distance from camera to aircraft, low cloud base or heavy rain may result in aircraft not
being visible. There is no audio available.
Pointing NE towards the airport. You will see ALL arrivals & departures for runway 05 & 23. The airport is 3 miles away. The runway itself is obscured by trees, with aircraft becoming visible 100ft above the runway. There is a rewind feature (time-shift) for this camera of up to 4 hours. In the distance 17 miles away are the Kilsyth Hills.
Pointing NE and angled skywards. This camera will capture runway 23 departures (flying towards the camera) and runway 05 arrivals (flying away from the camera). Aircraft are shown around 2 miles from the runway, giving a much closer view, particularly when runway 05 is in use.
Pointing SW away from the airport. This camera has great views of aircraft heading in on runway 05, from around 4 miles out.
